Kia Sorento heads up to the alps with BFBS

Jon Knighton, Sports Editor of BFBS Forces TV, and several members of the team will be navigating a Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi KX-4 on a 12 hour journey to Meribel, France. Kia is providing BFBS with vehicle support for their trip to transfer their equipment effectively around the Alps throughout the five-day competition.

The Forces championships take place across the first week in February, and the team from BFBS Sport will bring viewers and listeners live slope-side coverage every day. The championships will see more than 200 members of the British Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force taking part in skiing, snowboarding and Telemark skiing.

Jon Knighton said "This is the third year that Kia has very generously supported us in our coverage of the Forces Snow Sports Championships in Meribel.  For two years we took a Sportage which made light work of some pretty challenging conditions. We're looking forward to putting the Sorento through its paces.

"As it's bigger than the Sportage, we'll be able to carry more of our video and editing equipment to the Alps. It means we can provide even more video content to show our servicemen and women showing their competitive talents in skiing, snowboard and telemark," added Jon.

Based in Buckinghamshire, BFBS has broadcast to the British Military for almost seventy years, giving servicemen and women around the world the news and sport as if they were at home. BFBS Radio is available on DAB Digital Radio in the UK, on FM across the Forces world, on Sky Guide 0211, Freesat Channel 786, www.bfbs.com and via the BFBS smartphone App.
