COVID-19 Update W J King
Following the announcements from the UK Government on 23rd March 2020 we have implemented the following changes to operating procedures.
W J King Sales Departments
In line with the Government directive, and in the interest of the wellbeing of our customers and staff, we have taken the decision to temporarily close our Sales Departments to the public until further notice. We will be retaining a small number of staff on each site to conduct handovers on an appointment only basis. This is to ensure that we can fulfil our commitment to those customers who maybe relying on taking delivery of the vehicle for mobility in view of the challenging period that lies ahead. This is optional, any customers who do not feel comfortable collecting vehicles at this time can of course delay. Sales enquiries and telephone calls will be answered by our contact centre remotely, until the department is able to reopen.
Service, Parts & Forecourt Departments
Our Aftersales and Forecourt departments will remain open as these have been classified as essentials services by the UK government. Furthermore, we want to reassure our local communities of our commitment to do our utmost to keep our customers mobile during this time of extreme uncertainty. Our primary motivation behind keeping these departments open is to support our emergency services, critical workers, NHS staff and any vulnerable people who rely heavily on continued reliable mobility. Providing the services to keep vehicles road worthy at this critical time, including servicing, MOT’s, worn tyre replacement, parts and fuelling is of great importance.
Our priority is to continue to provide a high quality, clean, safe experience for all our customers and staff. We’re working hard with our franchise partner’s and following guidance provided by the World Health Organisation and Government Health England, to ensure we collectively do everything possible to help customers in these challenging times.
As a family run business for over 60 years, family and community have remained core to our values at W J King and we are committed to supporting our staff and our customers who are affected by this decision in any way we can. It is our aim to re-open our sales departments as soon as it is practical and safe to do so, and at that stage we will be committed to continuing to serve our customers, as well as provide a great place to work, whilst looking towards a brighter future.
