Vauxhall Motors delivers modern vehicle technology

An engine and several gearboxes have been donated by Vauxhall Motors to the Young Offenders Institute in Aylesbury assisting them with opportunities to work with leading-edge motor industry technology.

The institute has two motor vehicle workshops where young offenders can learn new skills and gain qualifications, helping prepare them for rehabilitationHead of Vauxhall's Customer Care Operations Dave Doublett presented Governor Kevin Leggatt with the power train components, consisting of six new transmissions and one complete engine assembly.

"It's great that we can provide assistance to those who would like a career in the motor industry," said Dave. "The donation will help equip young offenders with the skills they need to work on modern vehicles. Hopefully this will mean they are better skilled to gain employment."

"These significant units will go a long way to helping us train young offenders on more up-to-date technology," said the institute's Vocational Team Leader Andy Pickett. "This experience will help them forge a successful career in the future."

"Vauxhall has donated components to the institute in the past and this continued support is wonderful."
